Overview
2,5 years & 4 digital products later…the new face of Renovation Man
While working for Renovation Man, I oversaw the UX/UI aspects for 4 distinct products, catering to both our collaborators and end-users. These products included:
client dashboards
construction worker dashboards
an onboarding survey
an employee dashboard
I led a strong lean UX/UI approach, incorporating user experience research, ideation, and co-creation workshops, as well as the development of personas, wireframing, prototyping, UI design, and user testing. Additionally, I spearheaded a complete overhaul of the end-user experience and interface across all four products, which on top of usual Product Design involved UX writing, microcopy refinement, content and branding alignment. Furthermore, I initiated the creation of a "Lite" Design System, overseeing its adoption and maintenance within the organization.
Webapp for construction workers
I developed a web application tailored for construction workers who required seamless project management while navigating multiple construction sites. This endeavor proved especially fulfilling as our User Experience Research provided invaluable insights into the diverse personas of construction workers. By confronting our biases regarding their digital proficiency, expertise, and habits, we gained a deeper understanding of their needs. This informed the development of essential features such as expense tracking, deadline-driven documentation signing, and easy access to key contacts such as clients and third-party quality assurance managers. This user-centric approach ensured that our web app truly addressed the practical challenges faced by construction workers in their daily tasks.

Re-branding & landing page
Upon joining Renovation Man, I was humbly tasked with overseeing the company's rebranding efforts. While collaborating with an external agency, I played a pivotal role in ensuring that the rebranding aligned seamlessly with our ongoing design system development.
This comprehensive project involved not only the Product Design team but also close collaboration with Marketing and Communication departments. Our goal was to address a genuine pain point for our urbanite users: the apprehension surrounding embarking on a construction project.
We transitioned from a singular superhero presence to a collective representation of the Renovation Team at Renovation Man, emphasizing collaboration and support. "Renovation Men" would better encapsulate this ethos, which we infused into the brand's identity.
Departing from the bold, danger-evoking magenta, we opted for a calming teal blue, drawing on color psychology and its prevalence in construction projects at the time (circa 2019).
Incorporating hand-drawn illustrations akin to quick renovation sketches, we sought to imbue the brand with a friendly, approachable vibe. These doodly, cartoonish illustrations played a pivotal role in reshaping perceptions of Renovation Man as a comforting sanctuary rather than an intimidating corporate entity.
Furthermore, we employed rounded corners across the UI to soften the overall aesthetic, alleviating any stress induced by the previous brutalist design. This holistic rebranding effort culminated in a final product that not only appealed visually but also resonated deeply with our target audience, fostering trust and confidence in Renovation Man's services.

Onboarding questionnaire
One of our cornerstone products was the onboarding questionnaire, serving as the gateway to the user journey after perusing our landing page. This questionnaire held significant importance as a primary driver for user acquisition. Given the inherently intricate nature of construction projects, especially in historic cities like Paris with their diverse and non-standardized apartment layouts, customization was paramount.
We faced the challenge of balancing efficiency, catering to users completing the questionnaire during brief metro commutes or leisurely sessions at home on their desktops. Features such as "continue where you left off" and progress feedback proved crucial in enhancing user experience. To inject a touch of playfulness and gamification, we celebrated user success and progress through the sometimes lengthy questionnaire.
Recognizing the surge in mobile traffic, particularly among users completing the questionnaire on-the-go, we prioritized optimizing the mobile version. This concerted effort, alongside the collaborative work of our tech and marketing teams, significantly bolstered our conversion rate. The enhancements made to the questionnaire not only streamlined the user experience but also served as a testament to our dedication to meeting the diverse needs of our users.
